Janitorial Supervisor, FT

Responsibilities:

Directs janitorial staff in the fulfillment of assignments. Supervises a staff, which involves, direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, developing policies and developing procedures to ensure achievement of goals. Enhances company posture on EEO/ADA by making good faith effort to recruit, select, develop and retrain protected class employees. Evaluates safe work practices. Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment and the appearance of janitorial areas. Performs regular inspections of property areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties. Assures that janitorial staff follows established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies. Inspects storage rooms, utility and janitorial closet for upkeep and supply control. Requisitions all supplies and equipment. Maintains adequate inventory levels. Communicates with other supervisors to adequately plan for janitorial services.

Requirements:

Associate Arts degree in Housekeeping, Environmental Studies, Microbiology, Hazardous Waste and Chemical, or related area preferred. Must have housekeeping/janitorial experience, with a working background in productivity planning. Must have experience in a supervisory capacity. Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and to supervise professional and nonprofessional personnel. Good human relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deal with people at different organizational levels both inside and outside the company. Must have well developed problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices.


All positions are part-time unless otherwise specified.
