Grill Manager, FT

Responsibilities:

Work with cooks and other personnel to plan menus that are flavorful and popular with customers. Work with cooks for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies. Estimate food and beverage costs. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste. Perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service. Work with other management personnel to plan marketing, advertising, and any special restaurant functions. Hire, train, and schedule food service personnel. Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service. Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Comply with all health and safety regulations. Review and monitor, with bookkeeper or other financial personnel, expenditures to ensure that they conform to budget limitations. Work to improve performance. Prepare and adhere to department budget as well as set and achieve profit goals. Performs all cost control functions concerning Grill operation. These duties include determining menu prices, regulating labor and overhead costs, and preparing the kitchen budget. Monitor and control purchases, sales and labor costs by performing regular cost/benefit, profit/loss studies and implement corrective actions as indicated.

Requirements:

Three years progressive experience in supervising and managing restaurant staff. Willingness to assume responsibility for Grill operations during business hours. Open availability and willingness to work any shift to ensure staffing needs are met. Good organizational skills for dealing with diverse duties and staff. Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with public as well as staff.


All positions are part-time unless otherwise specified.
