Cage Manager

Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the day to day operations of the cage staff as well as perform any and all duties of subordinates as needed to ensure that the business needs are met.

• Supervises, reviews and monitors, all Cage Supervisors, Cashiers and Count Team personnel for performance.
• Oversees and coordinates the activities of all workers engaging in receiving, paying out, and counting money (currency, coins, tokens, chips, and coupons).
• Prepares weekly work schedules for all cage staff to ensure coverage.
• Assists with approval of hiring, and is responsible for disciplinary actions, leave request, and performance appraisals for all employees.
• Oversees the training program and ensures that employees are fully trained in customer service, banking procedure, safety, and emergency response.
• Writes job descriptions for new positions, and ensures employees are performing to the standards of the job descriptions.
• Help to establish all department procedures and policies, and updates as needed.
• Is responsible for forecasting, implementing, and tracking operational budgets for staffing, supplies, and equipment.
• Verifies and approves timesheets.
• Reviews and makes necessary adjustments to staffing needs.
• Completes justification for equipment purchases and oversees purchase of supplies.
• Ensures money supply is adequate to meet the business needs. Conducts periodic review and sets bank limits to ensure excess cash is deposited.
• Ensures check cashing policies and procedures are adhered to and assists in the check collection process.
• Oversees daily reconciliation of Monetary Instrument Log, and Monetary Transaction Log, for all departments.
• Files and retains records for Cash Transaction Reports within established requirements of the IRS. Performs periodic training to meet requirements for IRS, FinCIN-Title 31 and MICS.
• Independently plans and carries out assigned duties and coordinates work with other departments.
• Evaluates all work for accuracy, effectiveness, customer service, resolution of problems, staffing, currency control, training, and supervisory/management skills.
• Incumbent is expected to perform duties and make decisions based on available guidelines and own judgment.
• Is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a minimum via phone for issues with Cage staff.
• Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the business and the General Manager.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent to 6 years of experience in a related field, or Banking and/or Bookkeeping experience.
• Ability to read, interpret and implement State Rules and Regulations.
• Must be able to deal effectively with all people.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written directions with minimal supervision.
• Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with minimum supervision.
• Indian Preference.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen test.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
